Maddie Nyce Drives In 5 To Lead Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights Past Stow-Munroe Falls

Maddie Nyce drove in five runs on three hits to lead Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights past Stow-Munroe Falls 17-3 on Monday. Nyce singled in the third scoring two, hit a home run to center field in the fourth scoring two, and singled in the second scoring one.

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights scored nine runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Haydn Paul hit a solo home run to center field, Gracie Smith singled, scoring one run, Nyce homered to center field, scoring two runs, Larken Koran homered to center field, scoring two runs, Laura Garey hit a solo home run to center field, and Brooke Becker homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Stow-Munroe Falls were the first to get on the board in the first when #10 singled, scoring one run.

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second after Nyce singled to left field, and Nyce scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.

Stow-Munroe Falls took the lead in the top of the third. #10 singled, scoring two runs, to give Stow-Munroe Falls the advantage, 3-2.

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights captured the lead, 8-3, in the bottom of the third after Nyce singled to right field, Koran singled to center field, and Garey doubled down the right field line, each scoring two runs.

Haylie Lambes earned the win for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. #10 took the loss for Stow-Munroe Falls. The starter went three and one-third innings, allowing 13 runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking seven.

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights amassed 14 hits in the game. Koran and Nyce each collected three hits for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. Koran and Nyce each drove in five runs for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. Kirra Smeal, Garey, and Becker each collected multiple hits for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. Morgan Ritchie paced Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Garey had the most chances in the field with seven.

#10 drove the middle of the lineup, leading Stow-Munroe Falls with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. #1 and #10 were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Stow-Munroe Falls.

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights will travel to Brecksville-Broadview Heights for their next game on Wednesday.
