Mayor Horrigan has ordered that Mason Community Center be open overnight to ensure that all our residents have access to safe, warm facilities 24 hours a day during this extreme cold.

Mason Community Center will be open all night tonight (Wednesday) and remain open until Thursday at 10 PM.  Akron Police officers and Recreation employees will staff the warming center 24 hours to ensure the safety and comfort of all individuals and families using the center to stay warm.  The United Way has generously offered to provide free warm beverages and the Red Cross will be supplying cots and bedding.
