Nathan G collected three hits in three at bats, as Nordonia Knights 12U defeated Premier 12U Bunt 3-1 on Wednesday. Nathan hit a solo home run to left field in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Nordonia Knights 12U pitchers struck out seven, while Premier 12U Bunt sat down 11.
A solo home run to left field by Nathan on the sixth pitch of the at-bat put Nordonia Knights 12U on the board in the bottom of the first.
Travis N was struck by a pitch, which helped Premier 12U Bunt tie the game at one in the top of the fifth.
In the bottom of the sixth, Nordonia Knights 12U broke up the tie when Joe G singled, scoring one run. Then a walk by Johnny R followed to extend the lead to 3-1.
Kenny B began the game for Nordonia Knights 12U. They gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking four. Landon J began the game for Premier 12U Bunt. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out 10 and walking two. Joe and Luke D each appeared in relief for Nordonia Knights 12U.
Joe and Nathan each drove in one run for Nordonia Knights 12U. Kameron B and Joe each stole multiple bases for Nordonia Knights 12U. Nordonia Knights 12U stole eight bases in the game.
Premier 12U Bunt’s Cole J made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in two at bats. Charlie G, Camden C, and Cole each stole multiple bases for Premier 12U Bunt. Premier 12U Bunt ran wild on the base paths, collecting seven stolen bases for the game. Premier 12U Bunt were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dom B had the most chances in the field with 12.
