New Blog: Through Sullivan’s Eye

By JC Sullivan

Recently, two Muslim truck drivers, allegedly Somali ‘refugees’, refused to make beer deliveries for their employer, claiming it violated their religious beliefs. The company rightly fired them. End of story? Not by a long shot. MahadAbass Mohamed and his goombah Abdkiarim HassanBulshale were awarded $240,000.00 for religious discrimination. These two birds knew they would have to deliver alcohol as part of their job. Sounds as if their employer was set up.

Enter the Obama administration via the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). They stepped in on behalf of the truckers saying “We are proud to support the rights of workers to equal treatment in the workplace without having to sacrifice their religious beliefs or practices; it’s fundamental to the American principles of religious freedom and tolerance.’ Huh?

In the case of Christians trying to assert their own religious beliefs, this administration is speaks with a forked tongue. This is the same administration that supported the state of Oregon when the owners of “Mellissa’s Sweet Cakes” were fined $135,000.00 for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

Attorney Andrew Napolitano was asked, “So, in the case of the Muslim truck drivers, the Obama Administration through the EEOC is all in?” He replied, “That’s correct. It’s unfortunate when the government interferes in a private dispute over religious views, and takes sides, and chooses one religion over another.” He then opined why he thought the Administration was taking an interest in matters. “The way the feds intervened…they wanted this case because they wanted to make the point that they’ve now made.”

There can’t be one set of laws for Christians and another set for Muslims and other religious groups in the U.S. Apparently some now possess religious liberty and freedom of conscience and others do not. Is this the beginning of an attempt to establish Sharia Law here?
