Nordonia Knights fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-8 loss to Shaker Heights on Wednesday. Shaker Heights scored on a home run by #1 in the first inning, a walk by #1 in the second inning, and a error in the second inning.
Nordonia Knights lost despite out-hitting Shaker Heights seven to four.
Shaker Heights got things started in the first inning when #1 homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Nordonia Knights scored four runs in the fifth inning. Nordonia Knights offense in the inning was led by Mike Hamrick, Aidan McFerren, and Robby Levak, all driving in runs in the frame.
Shaker Heights scored five runs in the second inning. The big inning for Shaker Heights came thanks to by #1 and an error on a ball put in play by #8.
#4 was the winning pitcher for Shaker Heights. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing three hits and four runs. #10 threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Joey Derusso led things off on the mound for Nordonia Knights. He went two innings, allowing seven runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one. Ryan Short, Luke Jackson, and Zach Westbrooks each contributed in relief for Nordonia Knights.

Nordonia Knights Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Stow-Munroe Falls
Nordonia Knights jumped out to an early lead over Stow-Munroe Falls and took home a 7-2 victory on Friday. Nordonia Knights scored on a error in the first inning and a single by Billy Levak in the second inning.
Nordonia Knights knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored one run for Nordonia Knights.
Nordonia Knights pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Levak singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Nordonia Knights tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Aidan McFerren, Tyler Juriga, and Brendan O’Donnell each had RBIs in the big inning.
Caleb Cunningham was the winning pitcher for Nordonia Knights. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four. Zach Westbrooks and Vince Varner entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Ciccantelli took the loss for Stow-Munroe Falls. He surrendered six runs on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out six.
Nordonia Knights tallied eight hits in the game. Robby Levak and Luke Jackson all had multiple hits for Nordonia Knights. Levak went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Nordonia Knights in hits. Nordonia Knights tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Jackson led the way with three. Nordonia Knights didn’t commit a single error in the field. Mike Hamrick had the most chances in the field with eight.
Stow-Munroe Falls totaled six hits in the game. Folk and Vober all collected multiple hits for Stow-Munroe Falls.
