The Nordonia Boys Bowling team had a week filled with impressive performances and notable achievements, both in the JV Invitational and a high-stakes varsity match.
The Nordonia JV Boys Bowling Team competed at Northwoods Lanes in the Nordonia JV Invitational on Saturday, December 16th. A seventh-place finish was the result of the team’s consistent and skilled play.
Although Cuyahoga Falls took first place in the event, Nordonia’s very own Austin Stanek garnered attention for his remarkable 574 series, which comprised games of 163, 208, and 203 and earned him fourth place. Stanek was recognized for his outstanding bowling performance and was named to the all-tournament team.
Varsity Match Against Copley
The action resumed at Northwoods Lanes on Wednesday, December 20th, when the varsity boys took on Suburban League rival Copley. Both teams displayed their exceptional bowling skills in a closely contested match. In the end, Nordonia’s final score was 2807, whereas Copley’s score was 2726. Kyan Freyhauf starred for the Knights, leading them to a 481-series victory that included 235 and 246 games.
Following closely behind with 472 series from 235 and 237 games, Josh Ware was also in the hunt. With series of 427 and 393, respectively, Aiden Bulanda and Drew Kitzmiller were major factors in the win, and Josh Hermann’s 234 single game was also impressive.
