The Nordonia Lady Knights varsity girls bowling team achieved a remarkable victory at the Norton Panther Challenge on Saturday, December 2nd. Hosted by the Norton Panthers at Charger Lanes, the event started at 8:30 AM and witnessed a stellar performance from the Nordonia team, marking their fourth consecutive tournament win.
In this tournament, teams didn’t play against each other directly. Instead, the winner was decided by adding up all the pins knocked down. After the first three games, Nordonia’s girls were only ahead by 6 pins. But they did great in the next six games, called “bakers,” where every team member helped to win.
Kolbey Lewin was the top player for Nordonia. She knocked down a total of 623 pins in three games, scoring 181, 194, and an impressive 248 in the last game. This put her in fifth place overall, made her part of the first team of the all-tournament, and she had the highest score in the third game.
Kaitlyn McNutt also did well with a total of 558 pins from her games, scoring 160, 205, and 193. She finished in 10th place and was named to the second team of the all-tournament.
Grace Bzdafka was close behind, with a total of 557 pins, scoring 189, 177, and 191 in her games. She was just one pin short of being on the all-tournament team.
Other important scores for Nordonia came from Abby Toronski, who knocked down 498 pins, and Brooke Barnes, who had 492.
The Nordonia Lady Knights are doing really well in bowling. Winning this tournament shows how good they are working as a team and how skilled they are. They hope to keep winning in their future games.
