On Monday, November 21, 2016 the Nordonia Cross Country team held their awards night in the high school cafeteria—complete with pizza, salad, and desserts. The event was attended by coaches, student-athletes, and the families of the program.
Nordonia Cross Country Head Coach Mike Martin started the event by thanking his assistant coaches, Matt Beery and Heather Eckenrode. Furthermore, Coach Martin thanked the parents of the student-athletes for their time and energy in making the Nordonia Cross Country program such a successful program.
Additionally, Coach Martin talked about how the Nordonia Girls team finished fourth in the Suburban League—and advanced to the Regional Meet in Boardman. He continued by stating that the Nordonia Boys team finished seventh in the Suburban League—and had one individual qualifier to the Regional Meet with Matt Korodi. Both the boys and girls divisions of the Suburban League are extremely competitive, so the message from Coach Martin was we have made some progress, but we still have some more work to do for next year.
