On Friday the Nordonia Knights played the North Royalton Bears in a game that ended in a blow out victory (62-14) for the Knights Varsity Football Team. Nordonia’s proficient offense came out in force and the Knights defense was impeccable, stopping the majority of opportunities for the Bears.
The first quarter was definitely the strongest for the Knights’ offense. Billy Levak passed to Matt Hayes for the first touchdown of the night. Following that, Nordonia’s Jon Henderson who was wide open received a great pass and ran it into the end zone for the second touchdown. Nordonia was able to score one more touchdown before the end of the first quarter with a pass to Cooper Rusk making the score 21-0 at the end of the first.
The second quarter started off with a powerful sack by Nordonia’s defense forcing a turnover. On the next possession Shane Robinson of Nordonia was able to run it in for a touchdown giving the Knights an even greater lead with Royalton still sitting at 0. The energetic Nordonia D forced a second sack on the Bears, forcing them to punt to give Nordonia another possession. Sal Perrine was able to run the ball in for a fifth touchdown for the Knights bringing the score to 34-0. Nordonia’s unstoppable offence scored two more touchdowns, one by James Neville and the other by Shane Robinson, his second of the night. This brought the score to 48-0. North Royalton was finally able to put some points on the board with a touchdown at the very end of the first half giving them 7 points after the field goal.
At the beginning of the second half Jon Henderson powerfully ran the return all the way to the endzone for a touchdown. Royalton was able to score their second and final touchdown of the night bringing the score to 55-14 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter Nordonia’s Zach Zender was able to score Nordonia’s final touchdown of the game bringing the final score to 62-14.
Nordonia ended the game with three sacks and a total of five hundred thirty yards gained. These stats show how Nordonia was playing boldly both offensively and defensively. It’s always thrilling watching your team cross the goal line. The Knights brought a lot of joy to the fans watching remotely.  Nordonia has a 3-2 overall W/L record and a 3-1 record in the Suburban League. They are third in the League. The Nordonia Knights face Stow-Monroe Falls on Friday, October 2nd at home. Goooo Knights, beat those Bulldogs!
