Revere’s girls soccer team secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nordonia on Saturday in a defensive struggle that saw both teams battling for every scoring opportunity.
The Hornets managed to find the back of the net once while keeping a clean sheet against the visiting Knights from Macedonia. The lone goal proved to be the difference in a match where defensive play dominated.
The loss extends Nordonia’s losing streak to two games as the Knights continue to struggle this season. Nordonia now sits at 1-5-1 overall with a .214 winning percentage and remains winless in conference play at 0-2, placing them sixth in the Suburban National Conference standings.
The Knights have faced offensive challenges throughout the season, managing just three goals in seven matches while allowing 10. Their home field has not provided an advantage, as they remain winless at 0-3 at home.
Revere improved to 3-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play with the victory. The match took place on September 6. Nordonia will look to break their losing streak when they host North Royalton on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
