It is that time of the year again, as Fall is approaching, which means the start of the Nordonia High School Boys’ Soccer team for the 2023 season.
The Nordonia Knights are looking to have a successful 2023 soccer season after having a difficult season in 2022.
Let’s touch on a quick review of the 2022 season, before getting into the preview of the 2023 season.
Last year, the Nordonia Knights Boys’ Soccer team finished with a record of 4-14-1, including a winless 0-3 record in the conference.
This record gave the Knights a winning percentage of 24%. Struggling both at home and on the road, it was not the ideal season for the team and for Head Coach Kal Toth.
“We just completed our first our preseason camp”, says Head Coach Kal Toth. “Monday, (August) the 31st will be our first official day.”
After a hard-working preseason, the Nordonia Knights are ready to take the field for the 2023 Soccer season.
The Nordonia Knights Boys’ Soccer team is looking for a bounce back season for 2023.
In 2022, the team struggled both at home and on the road. The Knights home field record was (2-7-1), and their away record was (2-7).
Continuing to debrief the 2022 season, the Knights struggled in losing their first six games, giving them an (0-6) record.
They finally captured their first win in the seventh game of the season defeating Firestone (Akron) with a final score of 8-1.
After capturing their first win of the 2022 season, the Knights did not win their next three games, losing to Twinsburg and Wadsworth, but finishing the game against Highland (Medina) with a 2-2 score tie.
The Knights then acquired their second win of the season defeating Perry (Massillon) with a final score of 2-1.
The Nordonia Knights Boys’ Soccer team continued to struggle after this win and dropped their next five games.
Following a rough five-game losing streak, the Knights won the next two games defeating Ellet (Akron) with a final score of 10-1 and Washington (Massillon) with a final sore of 7-0.
The Knights then fell to University School (Hunting Valley) with a final score of 9-0 ending their 2022 Soccer season.
After dealing with a rough 2022 Soccer season, Head Coach Kal Toth and the boys are ready to take on 2023.
The Knights first game of the season will be on the road against Benedictine High School on August 11, 2023, at 7p.m.
