Friends of Nordonia Hills Branch Library Annual Meeting

Have you ever wondered how the Friends of the Library group supports library programming, initiatives and much more? Find out at their annual meeting on January 18. Learn about possible fulfilling volunteer opportunities, and stay for an Evening of Jazz with The Dan Wilson Trio, a live performance sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

An Evening of Jazz with The Dan Wilson Trio

Enjoy an evening of Jazz in the library stacks with Grammy nominated recording artist, Akron native, and guitar master Dan Wilson. Wilson is one of the biggest names on the jazz guitar scene today. He has shared the stage with the likes of David Sanborn, Russell Malone, Christian McBride, Joey DeFrancesco, Les McCann, Eric Marienthal and Dave Stryker, to name a few. Seats are limited. Baby Time features books, bounces, songs, and bubbles followed by a playtime.  Baby Time is for ages 2 and under.

Read a book to a certified therapy dog, Edmund or Sweetie. Bring a book or read one of ours! This is a great way for children to practice their literacy skills and gain more confidence in reading aloud. Children of all ages are welcome.

Messy Monday

Join us for some messy fun. One Monday a month at 6 pm. Remember to wear some old clothes, you may get messy.

December 20– Make an adorable mini flowerpot elf out of a mini clay pot, ribbon, and wooden beads. Your elf will be perfect for a seasonal decoration or to hang on a shelf in your bedroom.

Dungeons and Dragons 

Second Monday of each month, December 13, January 10 and February 14 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm 

Join our quest at your own peril! Bring your own dice and drinking vessel or pay Miss Sue 10 pieces of gold. We are a green group. Snacks and drinks provided. For more information, please ask Miss Sue.

Teens Turn Out 

The 4th Thursday of each month, we’ll try something new. Maybe a craft, a recipe, or a new skill.

We’re making Gingerbread Houses. Learn how to make frosting without a box or a can. Then Create your own magical Gingerbread House.
