Monthly Challenges
For Grades K-5 – Monthly challenges will be located in children’s area. Complete the challenge for a chance to win a small prize.

Baby Time
Baby Time is Thursdays, December 27 – January 24 at 10:15 a.m. It features books, bounces, songs, and bubbles followed by a play time for children 24 months and younger with a parent or caregiver.
Story Time
Story Time is Thursdays, December 27 – January 24 at 11:30 a.m. for children ages 2-5. It features stories, rhymes, music, and bubbles followed by play time.
Crafters’ Corner
Join your fellow craft enthusiasts for daylong fun. Bring your own supplies. All crafts welcome. Lots of table space to spread out. Refreshments served. Come for an hour or the entire day. Saturday, January 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Family Night
Join our program for families of all ages! One Monday a month at 6:30 p.m., we’ll get together for some great crafts. On Monday, January 7, make your own snow and create a snow scene.
Let’s Eat!
For students in grade 5 and up. One Tuesday a month at 3:30 p.m. we will get together and create something delicious. Tuesday, January 8 – we’re making sausage and cheese dinner.
Stitch Clique
Grab your crocheting/knitting needles and yarn and stitch the evening away. Join us the second Tuesday of each month for crocheting/knitting tips, friendship, advice and more. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, January 8, 6-8 p.m.
Paws for Reading
Read a book to Edmund, a certified therapy dog. Bring a book or read one of ours! This is a great way for children to practice their literacy skills and gain more confidence in reading aloud. Children of all ages are welcome. Tuesday, January 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Cookies and Conversation
The second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., meet to talk about what’s going on your life, school, town or the world. We’ll discuss philosophy, current events or whatever is on the group’s mind. And remember we have cookies! Wednesday, January 9 at 3:30 p.m.
After School Club
After School Club is one Wednesday per month, for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. On Wednesday, January 9 at 4 p.m., make a penguin water bottle craft.
Socrates Café
Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Café, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on Wednesday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m. 16 & over, please.
Coffee & Conversation Book Discussion

The Magic of the Balalaika
Virtuoso Oleg Kruglyakov performs a fascinating, fun, conversational-style program of live Russian music, performing on balalaika and singing with backing tracks. Thursday, January 10, 7 p.m.
Teens Do Something
This is a great way for students in 5th through 12th grades to volunteer. We will meet one Saturday a month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to do a different type of project. Please contact us for more details. Saturday, January 12.

On Saturday, January 12, at 2:30 p.m., join us for great hands on STEAM fun! Children, school age and up, bring your moms, dads, and the whole family.

Learn how to avoid big mistakes when saving for retirement – topics covered include inflation, asset allocation, taxation, and healthcare costs. This program will help you identify what you have, what you need, and how to get there for retirement planning. Tuesday, January 15, 6 p.m.
Writers’ Guild of Nordonia Hills
Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Nordonia Hills Game Time
Join our regular gaming “meet-up” each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. Are you going to be eligible for Medicare this year? Then this FREE Medicare program is for you! Sarah Florimonte, a Community Liaison for the Ohio Department of Insurance’s OSHIIP division, will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance.
