Monthly Challenges
For Grades K-5 – Monthly challenges will be located in children’s area. Complete the challenge for a chance to win a small prize.

Mind, Body, & Sole Summer Reading Club
A Universe of Stories! Sign up for our reading/wellness experience for the whole family to enjoy. Read, live active, and win prizes. Sign up at the Library today! Mind Body & Sole will run through July 27.

Writers’ Guild of Nordonia Hills
Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Please bring a sample of your work to share. Light snacks provided. Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, June 19..

School Age Fun!
Join us for our special summer reading club programs for students grades K – 5! Tuesdays, June 25 – July 23, at 2 p.m. Join us as we laugh, learn, and have some fun!
July 2 – Let’s play Bingo!
July 9 – Let’s have a dance party! Enjoy music by a D.J. from One T Entertainment.
July 16 – Lindsay Bonilla, the interactive storyteller from World of Difference will share some wonderful stories.
July 23 – Sogbety Diomande entertains with rhythm and drums.

Adult Coloring Night
Bring your own coloring book or choose from provided coloring pages and spend the evening relaxing and coloring with new friends. Tuesday, June 25, 6 p.m.

Lunch Bunch
Students K-5 are invited to join Miss Sue for lunch, a story and a craft. Bring your lunch and your listening ears. Dessert and beverages will be provided. Wednesdays, June 26 through July 17, 12 – 1:30 p.m.

Teen Café
Join us for our special summer reading club programs for teens! For students going into grade 5 and up. Thursdays, June 20 through July 25 at 2 p.m.
June 27 – 7th Annual Paper Airplane Races! Come race your designs against other worthy opponents and win prizes.
July 11 – Painted Rock Photo Stand – Make a photo holder from a rock, paint, wire and beads pretty enough to give away.
July 18 –Curled-up Kitty –Create a cat or your own creature out of paper.
July 25 – Hidden Storage – Construct a place to hide all your treasures.

Mystery Book Discussions
The Mystery Book Lovers discussion group is an informal group of adult mystery readers. Our next discussion will be on The Round House by Louise Erdrich on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Family Night
Family of all ages join together for some great crafts. One Monday a month at 6 p.m. Monday, July 1 – We are going to paint with magnets.

Wellness Yoga: Yoga Off the Mat
Learn soothing stretches that you can incorporate into your daily life in this gentle yoga series with Diane Bielecki, who graduated from the Cleveland Clinic School of Yoga. No mat is needed – stretches are done standing or in a chair. Please dress in comfortable clothing and arrive 5-10 minutes early so that class may begin on time. This class is limited to twenty participants, and registration is required. Tuesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 6:30 p.m.

Holiday Closing
The Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4.

Crafters’ Corner
Join your fellow craft enthusiasts for daylong fun. Bring your own supplies. All crafts welcome. Lots of table space to spread out. Refreshments served. Come for an hour or the entire day. Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday Casual Reads
Join us the second Monday of each month for book discussions, fun, and sharing with fellow light reading lovers. We will discuss America’s First Daughter by Stephanie Dray on Monday, July 8 at 2 p.m.

Teens Do Something
This is a great way for students in 5th through 12th grades to volunteer. We will meet from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on select days to do a different type of project. Please contact us for more details. Mondays, July 8 & 22.

Dungeons and Dragons
We are gathering Monday, July 8 and 22 at 6 p.m. Join our quest at your own peril! For more information, please ask Mistress Sue.

Stitch Clique
Grab your crocheting/knitting needles and yarn and stitch the evening away. Join us the second Tuesday of each month for crocheting/knitting tips, friendship, advice and more. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, July 9, 6-8 p.m.

Paws for Reading
Read a book to Edmund, a certified therapy dog. Bring a book or read one of ours! This is a great way for children to practice their literacy skills and gain more confidence in reading aloud. Children of all ages are welcome. Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Socrates Café
Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Café, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on Wednesday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. 16 & over, please.

Coffee & Conversation Book Discussion
Join us for some great conversation with your fellow Nordonia Hills readers! Our next discussion is Thursday, July 11, 2 p.m. to discuss My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante.

Science Saturday: Experimental Play
Join us for great hands on STEAM fun see what new “toys” have been added! Saturday, July 13, 2:30 p.m.

Messy Monday
Messy Monday is one Monday a month. On Monday, July 15 at 6 p.m., we will do mini sponge throw painting.

Kayaking the Cuyahoga
Kayaking has become more popular in Northeast Ohio in the last several years, due in part to changes to the Cuyahoga River that have made it more kayak-friendly. Learn the best places to kayak in Summit and Cuyahoga Counties, what kind of equipment you’ll need and a bit about the history (and exciting future) of the Cuyahoga River. Presented by Ryan Ainger, kayak enthusiast and Park Ranger with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Thursday, July 18, 6:30 p.m.

Nordonia Hill Game Time
Join our regular gaming “meet-up” each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. The next meet-up will be on Saturday, July 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join fellow local players – Sharpen your intellect – Enjoy the social aspects of games. Refreshments served. No registration necessary.

Eldercare Options and How to Pay for It
This presentation from the CarePatrol Team of NE Ohio will explain the many options that seniors need to consider as they go through the aging process, how much these options cost and how is it possible to pay for these options. Other important information will also be shared that will allow seniors and their families to have the necessary information to make the right choices in the years ahead, as everyone’s journey through the aging process is uniquely different.  This is an engaging presentation where attendees are welcome to bring their questions. Tuesday, July 23, 6 p.m.
