Monthly Challenges
For Grades K-5 – Monthly challenges will be located in children’s area. Complete the challenge for a chance to win a small prize.

A Storytelling “Tellabration”
Storytellers from the Western Reserve Association for the Preservation and Perpetuation of Storytelling present an adult story concert. These are stories especially designed “not just for children.” Some tales will make you think, some will make you laugh, will make you wonder, but all of them have hidden wisdom for you to discover. Thursday, November 15, 7 p.m.

Nordonia Hills Game Time
Join our regular gaming “meet-up” each month for patrons who enjoy board games, cards, chess, role-playing, war games, and collectible card games. The next meet-up will be on Saturday, November 17, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join fellow local players – Sharpen your intellect – Enjoy the social aspects of games. Refreshments served. No registration necessary.

Messy Monday
Messy Monday is one Monday a month. We will try salt painting on Monday, November 19 at 6 p.m.

Family Night
Join our program for families of all ages! One Monday a month at 6:30 p.m., we’ll get together for some great crafts. On Monday, November 26 – We’re making a bowl bird feeder to help our feathered friends.

Let’s Eat!
For students in grade 5 and up. One Tuesday a month at 3:30 p.m. we will get together and create something delicious. Tuesday, November 27 – Learn to liven up Ramen Noodles, try a Quick Ramen Bowl.

Adult Coloring Night
Bring your own coloring book or choose from provided coloring pages and spend the evening relaxing and coloring with new friends. Tuesday, November 27, 6 p.m.

NaNoWriMo Series: Crafting A Memorable Character
Do you want to know what it takes to make your characters stand out? Join USA Today bestselling author Amanda Flower for a writing craft lecture about characterization and what it takes to make every character in your fiction shine. Registration is suggested. Tuesday, November 27, 6:30 p.m.

Mystery Book Discussions
The Mystery Book Lovers discussion group is an informal group of adult mystery readers. Our next discussion will be “Reader’s Choice” of a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on Wednesday, November 28 at 7 p.m.

Crafters’ Corner
Join your fellow craft enthusiasts for daylong fun. Bring your own supplies. All crafts welcome. Lots of table space to spread out. Refreshments served. Come for an hour or the entire day. Saturday, December 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DIY: Crafty Christmas
We’re back for our tenth season of fun and cheap gift giving ideas. Learn to create your own affordable holiday gifts on virtually any budget. For teens (8th grade and up) and adults. Class size is limited to 20 participants, so registration is required. Tuesday, December 4, 6:30 p.m.

The Magic of the Balalaika
Virtuoso Oleg Kruglyakov performs a fascinating, fun, conversational-style program of live Russian music, performing on balalaika and singing with backing tracks. Thursday, December 6, 7 p.m.

Teens Do Something
This is a great way for students in 5th through 12th grades to volunteer. We will meet one Saturday a month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to do a different type of project. Please contact us for more details. Saturday, December 9.

Monday Casual Reads
Join us the second Monday of each month for reader-to-reader book discussions, fun, and sharing with fellow light reading lovers. We will discuss Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand on Monday, December 10 at 2 p.m.

Stitch Clique
Grab your crocheting/knitting needles and yarn and stitch the evening away. Join us the second Tuesday of each month for crocheting/knitting tips, friendship, advice and more. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, December 11, 6-8 p.m.

Cookies and Conversation
The second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., meet to talk about what’s going on your life, school, town or the world. We’ll discuss philosophy, current events or whatever is on the group’s mind. And remember we have cookies! Wednesday, December 12 at 3:30 p.m.

Socrates Café
Interested in candid, thought-provoking conversation? Join your fellow patrons at the Socrates Café, an informal adult discussion that takes place each month here at the library. The Cafe opens on Wednesday, December 12at 6:30 p.m. 16 & over, please.

After School Club
After School Club is one Wednesday per month, for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. On December 12 at 4 p.m., make a popsicle stick Christmas tree.

Coffee & Conversation Book Discussion
Join us for some great conversation with your fellow Nordonia Hills readers! Our next discussion is Thursday, December 13 at 2 p.m. to discuss The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin.

Writers’ Guild of Nordonia Hills
Writers wanted! New writers and old hands welcome: fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between. Have your work critiqued and give feedback to others in a fun and friendly environment. Please bring a sample of your work to share. Light snacks provided. Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 19.

Discover Jazz with Curtis Taylor
Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Curtis Taylor will discuss jazz music, the trumpet, and perform live as part of a jazz duo. Questions and audience participation is encouraged. Thursday, December 20, 7 p.m.

Science Saturday
On Saturday, January 12, at 2:30 p.m., join us for great hands on STEAM fun! Children, school age and up, bring your moms, dads, and the whole family
