Did you know that Nordonia Hills Chiropractic is celebrating 25 years in business?
In 1986, Dr. Scott A. Sesny graduated from Bedford’s Chanel High School. He wrestled in high school (often times at the Macedonia Longwood YMCA). When he injured his shoulder, Dr. Sesny went to a chiropractor and then once again after he was in a automobile accident. He was impressed with how they were able to help him. He had a terrible immune system, allergies and pediatric problems. Chiropractic care helped with these problems, boosted his immune system and helped turned his life around. In fact when he was wrestling, he had to change the way he wrestled until he got help. If he had gotten help earlier he would have not had to alter his wrestling style.
After high school he enrolled at Ohio State University for sports medicine. The program was not quite what he was expecting it to be. He decided to change to chiropractic care instead. The courses he was taking lined up perfectly for admission to chiropractic school. He graduated from chiropractic school in August of 1993 and opened up Nordonia Hills Chiropractic in June of 1994 in Macedonia next to the Winking Lizard.
He always knew he was going to come back in this area. He had fond memories from his high school wrestling days. This area is very accessible from multiple directions. When he first opened his doors, the Macedonia Commons was not complete yet. The section across the street from him was still under construction. He was in that location for 16 years.
He purchased the building that he is in now (the old First Merit building – see map below) but had to wait for the build out because of the construction on Rt. 82. At one point you could not access Rt. 82 from North Bedford!
At Nordonia Hills Chiropractic they handle a lot of sport injuries. Dr. Sesny can relate to students when they come in because of his experience with sport injuries in high school. . When he was injured, he tried standard medical treatment and an orthopedic approach but neither helped him. He finds it rewarding to help high school athletes reach their full athletic potential.
Over the 25 years the industry has changed. There is more acceptance of chiropractic care. Dr. Sesny is now more involved in nutrition and acupuncture. Most people come in to his office at earlier ages because he has so much to offer. A good number of people come in for headaches and sciatic pain but chiropractic care can also help with overall good health as well. Most insurance companies have some coverage.
