Nordonia Hills Memorial Day Parade 2022

The Memorial Day parade is scheduled for Monday May 30th with the usual start time of 10:00 AM, with our annual memorial ceremony following the parade at Northfield Macedonia cemetery. Our Grand Marshall this year is Macedonia resident and Vietnam Veteran Navy Corpsman Jim Filisky who will share his stories, his love and his sacrifices for our beloved country. All are encouraged to join in this event.

The Memorial Day parade is a somber event to memorialize and honor our Veterans that have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that you and I can enjoy the freedoms that we exercise daily. With that being said, there will be no sirens or candy permitted in the parade. When our beloved American flag passes you, please stand, remove your hat, place your hand over your heart and remember those who are no longer with us. Remember the loss that was felt at home by their family and the pain their loved ones endured when they could no longer embrace them. Remember their comrades who fought bravely beside them and the friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood that is incomparable to any other. For this is why we have Memorial Day, to remember, to honor and to never forget.

Unlike in years past, at the end of the parade procession, there will be a trailer which will be collecting donation items for The Emergency Assistance Center. This amazing organization provides support to those in need that reside in our local community. Encouraged donation items can be found on their website www.theemergencyassistancecenter.org or via their Facebook page.

All those interested in joining in the parade or have questions, please contact myself via email at caulrich2@gmail.com or contact VFW Riders President Greg Findura at 216-310-9276. We ask that all those participating in the parade are at St. Barnabas parking lot by 9:00AM so our team can get you into position.

Following the ceremonies, we will be hosting our annual open house located at 8584 Olde Eight Rd which will be open to the public. Please join us as we remember and honor our fallen.
