Your Nordonia Knights hockey team took to the ice at the end of January, for two high school competitions, Brush High School and Notre-Dame Cathedral Latin. Nordonia fought hard and skated fast knowing that these were crucial games that would determine the momentum for the rest of their season.
The first game against Brush High School ended in a 10-2 victory for the Knights but this was not their best game against them Arcs. Junior forward, Anthony Stutler, stepped up to play goalie for one game in Tommy Lippincott’s absence. Stuttler had only been in the pads for two days prior to the game. Additionally, two Nordonia skaters also suffered minor injuries in the game. Max Zuschin sustained a minor chest injury in the third period which took him out for the rest of the game. Kenton Carrell suffered a superficial throat and head injury within the last minute of the game and was unable to go through the handshake line. The Knights gave it their all and made sure to seal the game with a strong win. “Back-up” goalie, A. Stutler, only let in an impressive two goals on his first time between the pipes.
The second game against NDCL was another victory for the Knights and ended with a score of 7-2. Both Zuschin and K. Carrell returned for the NDCL game feeling 100% and ready to fight. This game was very important since NDCL is one of the better teams that the Knights have faced this year. This game started out well but soon became chippy and fierce. Nordonia pushed through and grabbed the victory. The team dog was given to Captain Carson Carrell for the effort he gave resulting in 4 goals.
