Nordonia Lady Knights Golf Team continues to have a Great Season!

The Nordonia Lady Knights Golf Team is having a great 2021 season. On September 21st, they beat their own school record with a 329 to take second in the National Division 3 strokes behind Hudson for the final Suburban League tournament. Larisa Golembiewski and Brooke Barnes led the team with 81s followed by Julia Gulla-82, Christina Nagy-85, Maci Taylor-92, and Kenadie Trehan-104. The Lady Knight’s 329 was third best overall for the entire Suburban League of 15 teams in the American and National Divisions with Hudson and Medina Highland being the only teams finishing ahead of them. For the season, the team finished second overall in the National Division of Suburban League. This is up from their third place finish in 2020.

The team is also doing very well in match play with a 9 wins and 3 losses record. They are currently on a 5 match win streak after their 169-172 victory on September 23rd over Aurora on a cold, wet and windy day at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course. Brooke Barnes led the team again with a 41 followed by Christina Nagy and Larisa Golembiewski with 42s, Julia Gulla-44, Maci Taylor-45 and Kenadie Trehan-53. The team also won 155-207 in a match with Twinsburg on September 20 at Gleneagles Golf Course. Christina Nagy and Larisa Golembiewski led the team in this match with 37s followed by Julia Gulla-40, Brooke Barnes-41, Maci Taylor-42 and Kenadie Trehan-49. The Varsity’s next match is Tuesday, September 28th, with Stow-Monroe Falls at Fox Den Golf Course.

The JV team coached by Kristi Gunyula also continued their winning ways on September 20th with a scramble win over North Royalton 77-91 at Briarwood Golf Course. Then they followed this up the next day with a match win over Tallmadge 221-234 at Sunny Hills Golf Course. Cammie Becker led the team with 53 followed by Lauren Torain-54, Kolbey Lewin-55, and Emma Selbee and Jillian Kaminsky with 59s. The JV’s next match is on Tuesday, September 28th, with Stow-Monroe Falls at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course.
