Knights Rally Past an Early Deficit
The Nordonia Knights beat Stow-Munroe Falls 45-14 on Friday night in a Suburban League National Conference game. The win moves Nordonia to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Stow-Munroe Falls scored first when Gideon Larlham ran 3 yards for a touchdown at the 7:41 mark of the first quarter. William Allard’s extra point try missed, leaving the score at 6-0. Nordonia answered quickly. CJ Mayes scored on a 5-yard run at 5:07, and Jackson Neal’s kick gave the Knights a 7-6 lead.
The second quarter belonged to Nordonia. Karsen Fisher scored on a 1-yard run, Mayes added a 4-yard touchdown run, and Grant Kaminski ran in from 2 yards out. Neal made all three extra points, and the Knights led 28-6 at halftime.
Neal kicked a 38-yard field goal in the third quarter. Steven Fakult then found Kaminski on a 42-yard touchdown pass to make it 38-6. Fakult connected with Jamiere Davies on a 29-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to cap Nordonia’s scoring at 45.
