Nordonia Student Spotlight: Nolan Tater

By Jackie Kopniske

We went to Ares Combat Sports Academy to interview Nordonia High School senior, Nolan Tater. While being president of  Nordonia High School Drama Club and a member of the pep squad, Nolan also prides himself on training in boxing and mixed martial arts. He has been attending Ares for about a year and a half now, first starting there after receiving a punching bag for his birthday. Boxing was in his blood so he continued in his father and grandfather’s path. Exercising really has helped Nolan gain more confidence in his life and help him out of bad spots by bettering himself both physically and mentally.

“Everyone here has become like a second family to me,” Nolan said about the gym. It is a welcoming environment where people go to train for fights or to simply work out and support each other. It is a safe place to express yourself. Coming up on Saturday, November 4th, Nolan will be competing in his first fight. He says if anyone has questions regarding the gym or need other information to feel free to talk to him. He will hopefully be teaching a class at Ares early next year.

Nolan’s first Fight is the Battle In The Ballroom 22 on Saturday November 4th. Click here to Purchase Tickets.
