NORTHFIELD CENTER TOWNSHIP — The Northfield Center Township Board of Trustees took several significant actions at its March 2 regular meeting, approving nearly $435,000 for the Bayberry Drive Drainage and Roadway Improvement Project and scheduling a public hearing on a proposed zoning change.
Trustees voted to authorize payment to Try More Construction for the project, totaling $434,963, drawn from Fund No. 03-B-03. The project is being managed in cooperation with the Summit County Engineer’s Office and is 50% funded through a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission, which will pay Try More directly for its share.
Underground pipe work along Bayberry Drive was complete as of the meeting date, with crews expected to return around April 1 to begin roadway work including grinding, stabilization, and new curbs. Payments to Try More will be made as work progresses following certification by the county engineer. Any change orders will require an additional trustee resolution.
Trustees also set a public hearing for April 6 at 6:45 p.m. to consider proposed zoning text amendments to Section 410.16 of the township zoning resolution, which addresses off-driveway vehicle parking — requiring residents to park on driveways rather than on yard surfaces.
The meeting also opened with the township recognizing two local Eagle Scouts for projects completed at FOP Lodge No. 108 in Macedonia. For the full story, see our earlier coverage: Northfield Center Celebrates Eagle Scouts Owen and Cooper McRitchie – Nordonia Hills News
