Northfield Intersection – Circa 1890’s

Circa 1890’s: Looking south at the intersection of S.R. 82, Olde Eight and Brandywine Roads Far left: The original Town Hall at S.R. 82 and Olde Eight Road, built in 1844. South of the Town Hall is the old Brick School (including the bell tower). That Town Hall became a service station, which was torn down to make room for the present Shell Service Station.
Center: The Leach home, with the Lyon’s Cheese Factory facing Brandywine Road. The Cheese Factory was originally the United Presbyterian Church, which was moved from its original location (now the site of Northfield Elementary School) A new Church was then built at the site of the present Nordonia Hills Library. Notice the water trough, which is still at its present location.
