NORTHFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – The following reports were provided by the Northfield Village Police Department for the period of December 16, 2025, through January 6, 2026.
OVI and Motor Vehicle Accident: On December 16, at approximately 11:26 p.m., officers responded to Northfield Road and Ledge Road for a two-vehicle accident. One vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage with airbag deployment. The driver of that vehicle exhibited signs of impairment and smelled of alcohol. After refusing field sobriety and breath tests, the driver was cited for OVI and failure to yield the right of way. The individual was released to a friend with a pending court date in Stow.
Sexual Assault Investigation: On December 18, the detective bureau initiated an investigation into a possible sexual assault occurring within the village following a notification from the Macedonia Police Department.
Harassment Report: A female came to the police station on December 20 to report ongoing harassment by an ex-coworker who had visited her place of employment on Northfield Road. The incident was documented for the record.
Assistance to Rescue Squad: Officers and fire department personnel responded to a care facility on Northfield Road on December 20 for an 85-year-old male who was not breathing. Despite life-saving efforts, the male was pronounced deceased of natural causes.
Welfare Check and Arrest: On December 22, Northfield officers assisted Macedonia Police with a welfare check on a female slumped over the wheel of a vehicle at a business on Macedonia Commons. The female was found to be impaired and was subsequently arrested by Macedonia officers.
Receiving Stolen Property: Security at the MGM Casino flagged down an officer on December 24 regarding a male patron who allegedly stole a voucher from another patron and was attempting to flee the premises.
Domestic Violence: Officers responded to a residence on Roosevelt Drive on December 27 following a report of a juvenile destroying property and punching his grandfather. The grandson was arrested and charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence before being transported to a juvenile detention facility.
Theft: A female reported the theft of her personal belongings on December 30. The incident allegedly occurred around 3:00 a.m. at a business located on Northfield Road.
Forgery and Fraud: On December 31, a resident reported that a check had been fraudulently cashed, resulting in a loss of over $1,700 from her bank account. The case has been forwarded to the detective bureau for further investigation.
Disturbance at Motel: Police responded to the Sunset Motel on January 1 for a domestic situation. Due to conflicting accounts from the parties involved, the case was reviewed by the prosecutor, who determined that no charges would be filed.
OVI Arrest: Early on New Year’s Day, officers conducted a traffic stop at Northfield Road and Maple Avenue after observing a male unconscious behind the wheel. Following field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested and charged with OVI, prohibited BAC, and an open container violation.
Assault at Casino: On January 3, officers responded to the MGM Casino for a report of an assault. A suspect was identified and taken into custody. The victim signed a formal complaint, and the suspect was transported to the Macedonia City Jail.
Attempted Aggravated Robbery: Police were called to the area near the police station on January 5 for a reported robbery involving a firearm. Although officers canvassed the area, the suspect vehicle was not located. The victim later requested that the investigation be closed and declined to provide a written statement.
Stalking and Menacing: A manager at the Circle K on Northfield Road reported being harassed by another employee on January 6. After an investigation and review by the prosecutor, it was determined that no charges would be filed at this time.
