Northfield Village Police Reports: Assaults, Disorderly Conduct and Kitchen Knife Found Near Playground

CRIME

September 6 – Officers responded to Circle K on Northfield Road for an assault complaint. After reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses, a female was cited for disorderly conduct and a male was arrested on assault charges. Both received mandatory court dates for September 19.

September 12 – A disturbance on Shepard Road required assistance from Macedonia Police after reports of a fight with potential weapons. One male was transported to UH Ahuja for evaluation.

September 13 – During a movie night at Smith Park on Houghton Road, a child discovered a kitchen knife near playground equipment. Officers located the juvenile owner of the 9.5-inch blade and began an investigation.

DOMESTIC INCIDENTS

September 11 – Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Meadow Lane where a male had barricaded himself inside a business while a female with six children remained outside. The male was transported to Hiram Police on an outstanding warrant. Summit County Child Protective Services was notified, and the female received information about homeless shelters and support services.

September 11 – A reported child enticement incident on Northfield Road was investigated and determined to be a misunderstanding. A resident mistook a child for a neighbor and apologized after speaking with detectives.

September 12 – Two domestic violence calls occurred at the same Ledge Road apartment complex within hours. The first incident at 10:05 a.m. resulted in both parties being advised to leave their shared residence for the night. The second call at 9:18 p.m. involved two sisters arguing about an earlier altercation. One sister had minor scratches from accidentally being pushed. Both were warned for disorderly conduct.
