Drug/Narcotics
Oct. 2 – Officers on patrol discovered a vehicle with four occupants parked after hours at Pitluk Preserve on Maple Avenue near Electric Boulevard around 12:40 a.m. A K9 unit detected narcotics, leading to a search that uncovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and open alcohol containers. One person was arrested on drug possession charges.
Oct. 6 – A traffic stop on southbound State Route 8 south of Valley View Road at 1:52 p.m. led to a narcotics investigation. After the driver’s travel story raised suspicion, a K9 unit indicated the presence of drugs. Officers discovered suspected narcotics, $20,496 in cash, two credit card readers and hundreds of gaming cards with names written on them.
Impaired Driving
Oct. 4 – Officers arrested a driver for operating a vehicle under the influence after observing erratic driving on Northfield Road at 1:01 a.m. The driver was processed and held for detoxification at Macedonia Jail before being released with a mandatory Stow Municipal Court date.
Oct. 4 – At 10:32 p.m., officers conducting radar enforcement on Northfield Road stopped a vehicle traveling at excessive speed near Forbes Road. Walton Hills Police took custody of the driver on suspicion of DUI.
Oct. 6 – A driver was arrested for OVI at 11:23 p.m. after making an abrupt lane change and driving through the median on Northfield Road between Ledge Road and Meadow Lane. The driver registered a .147 blood alcohol content and received citations for OVI, prohibited BAC and marked lanes violations before being released with a Stow court date.
Death Investigation
Oct. 4 – Officers responded to Birch Avenue at 11:52 a.m. for a report of a person lying on the ground. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene and transported to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s office. The case has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau.
