Daniel J. Jereb, 60, passed away March 1, 2021, after a short illness.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents Henry (Hank) and Madalene (Madge) Jereb, and his sister Eva Sue. He is survived by his adoring wife Leeanne, siblings Connie Erlenbach (Mike), Richard, Eric (Carole), and Michael (Susan), nieces Colleen Domoracki and Wendy Klingensmith, nephews Rick, Matt, Dan, Rob, David, and Nicholas, and several great nieces and nephews. Dan retired in 2016 as a Lieutenant from the Brecksville Police Department after 33 years of service, serving as acting chief from 12/2014 to 6/2015. He spent many years on the Southwest Enforcement Bureau (SWAT), leading the East Region as Commander. Dan loved spending time with his family and friends and was well known for playing practical jokes and giving his wife unorthodox gifts. His friends would say he had a short music playlist of 25 songs he was happy to hear – but all knew his least favorite song was “99 Red Balloons”, many will miss seeing the look on his face when it was played. He enjoyed vacationing, riding motorcycles, fishing for Big Larry, and helping family, friends and neighbors. Dan (Lo-Key) was a proud lifetime member of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club (Cleveland Chapter). He was also a member of the Southeast Cuyahoga Browns Backers, though he was the first one to tell you “your Browns Stink”. He was a true fan of both the Indians and Browns. A man of great integrity will be dearly missed by so many. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date. ARRANGEMENTS BY FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOMES (330) 467-4500.
