Obituary: David Otto Lebzelter

David Otto Lebzelter, 85, passed away on August 22, 2018 in his Northfield, Ohio home. Born on November 29, 1932 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was son of the late Otto G. and Edith (Markle) Lebzelter; brother to the late Bob Lebzelter; husband of 55 years to Jane (nee Dunn); father to Susan of Boone, North Carolina, and William (Nalini) of Evergreen, Colorado.  Dave was a state champion sprinter for Ferndale High School. He served in the Army, stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany, and graduated from Kent State before beginning a career in industrial sales. In retirement, Dave sang in the choir and was a member at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brecksville.

From Dave’s lingering illness he will be fondly remembered sitting in his recliner with both Beacon Journal and Plain Dealer on his lap, watching quiz shows or Cleveland sports with Cali, the family cat, at his side. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9201 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, Ohio 44141, followed by a funeral service at noon.
