Obituary: Dominic Thomas Flauto

Dominic Thomas Flauto
April 4, 1967 – July 9, 2023

Dominic followed his passions, interests and instincts. He never cared what others thought and didn’t hesitate to do things his way. He welcomed his family and friends to come along for the ride in whatever he did. He was always a tinkerer, being very mechanically and electronically oriented. He earned his degree in Electronics Engineering at DeVry Technology in Columbus, Ohio, and later earned his MBA. Dominic worked as an engineer for various businesses throughout his career, most notably, as an Electro-Mechanical Engineer with GE Reuter Stokes, where he earned his Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and then, as a Process Improvement Project Manager for National City and PNC Banks.

Dominic had many interests, including guitar, music (the louder, the better!), music production, photography, and cars. He was an expert drone engineer and pilot, always looking to build a better, faster, and flashier drone, even up until his last days. He was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan and a dedicated fantasy football league participant. He even started a youth arena football league, which he managed for a few years.

Dominic is now in the loving arms of his deceased parents, Tom Flauto and Marilyn O’Neill (nee Burfield). He is survived by his children, Olivia and Brennan, whom he loved dearly, his stepmother, Donna Flauto (nee Munko); siblings Patti Flauto (Jeff Gioitta), Tom Flauto Jr. (Jennifer), Bob Flauto; stepbrothers, Bob Munko (Nadine), Ken Munko (Sandy), and Dave Munko; nieces and nephews, Alex, T.J., Gina, Sydney, and Brandon; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AURORA RD. (OH RT 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION ON MONDAY, JULY 17, 2023 FROM 4-8 P.M. Dominic’s funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
