Donald J. Kuchta, 83, residing in Lakeside Marblehead, passed away late Monday afternoon, December 15, 2025 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Donald was born on February 25, 1942 in Cleveland, OH to the late Gustav and Mae Kuchta.
Donald owned and operated Kuchta Automotive in Macedonia, Ohio, prior to being elected mayor of Macedonia, where he served three terms before retiring in 2014. He also served as president of NOPRA and the Ohio Mayors Association. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Joan (Dudas) Kuchta, whom he married on July 6th, 1963. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa (Matthew) Wammes; son, Anthony (Lynda) Kuchta; four grandchildren, Eric, Katelyn, Nicholas (Jessica), and Spencer; great-granddaughter, Winter; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Robert) Bugoci and Mary Lenerth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his niece, Donna and nephew, Daniel.
Private Family Services will be held and conducted. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
