FRED W. MONTAGUE, age 96, passed away on May 24, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Irene “Sunshine” (nee Filisky); loving father of Charles, Frederick (Jill), and Diane Tyrrell (Tom); dearest grandfather of Daniel (Shuqi), Patrick (Elise), and Jason Stojkov (Kate Nolan); brother of the late Charles, Jack, Gilbert, and Margaret; a friend of many. Fred served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He rose to the rank of captain during his 27 years working at the University Heights Fire Department.
