Obituary: George Clayton Scanlon

George Clayton Scanlon, age 78, peacefully moved on to be with all of our beloved who have passed, and the lord above, on May 1, 2020. He was surrounded by family, with the utmost outpouring of love, upon entering this next stage of his journey.

Devoted son to the late Clayton and Grace Scanlon; dedicated brother to Frances Scanlon, Mary Jo Mierzejewski and Margaret Loyek; loving uncle to Marina (Robert) Pacovsky, Grace (Dominic) Mierzejewski, and Steven Mierzejewski; great uncle to Gwendalyn and Angelina Pacovsky, Landen Mierzejewski, and Leonardo and Ivy Iacano. In addition, George was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country aboard the USS Coral Sea as an aircraft mechanic. He was a selfless individual who spent his life with genuine compassion and care for others. A cherished family member, and dear friend to many, George loved all he knew with everything he had. He will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to please consider donating to Gardens of Western Reserve Hospice, 3792 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223, as they provided tremendous care for him during his final days.

Due to current circumstances, a celebration honoring his life will be held at a later date. Please pray for peace, love and health for all.
