Obituary: Joan Elizabeth Houlahan (nee Scheuerman)

Joan Elizabeth Houlahan (nee Scheuerman), age 88, of Northfield Center, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 24th, 2024 with her family by her side.

Loving mother of 5, grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 4, oldest of 4 siblings, and favorite Aunt to all her nieces and nephews.

She was loved and adored by everyone she met, and a friend to all. Everyone she crossed paths with was met with unwavering love, laughter and compassion. With her, life was full of faith, music, dance, kindness, and family. She made all of us better people and showed us how to live life to the absolute fullest.

Wife of the late Patrick Norman Houlahan; dear mother of Patrick (Mary) Houlahan Jr., Dennis (Dail) Houlahan both deceased, Daniel (Wendy deceased) Houlahan, Michael (Holly) Houlahan, Kevin (Melanie) Houlahan; loving grandmother of Shawn (Amanda) Houlahan, Corey (Kelsey) Houlahan, Caitlin (Ryan Vona) Houlahan Vona, Brendan Houlahan, Molly Houlahan, Kylie Houlahan, Casey Houlahan, Jordan Houlahan, Hannah (Mike) Rengers, Haylee Houlahan, Michael Houlahan and Brady Houlahan, cherished great grandmother of McKenna, Cashel, Jady and Wilder; dear sister of the late Judy, Bill and Mike.

Her storytelling abilities were unmatched, and she had a tale for every experience with a song to follow. Sometimes they were known songs, but other times she sang from her heart, making it up as she went along. She was an avid theatre fan. Her passion for music and serving the Lord inspired her involvement in Tetelestai (A passion play about Christ), Clown Ministry (as Flutter-by), Life in Praise Song Group, and PSR Music group. Naming Joan a superhero and a saint would be an understatement.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be made in Joan’s name to the Cleveland Performing Arts Ministries P. O. Box 670605, Northfield, OH, 44067 www.tetelestai-cpam.org
