Obituary: Joseph J. Tartabini Sr.

1303

Joseph J. Tartabini Sr., age 88, of Aurora, Ohio, went home to be with our Lord on January 26th, 2022 surrounded by his heartbroken family.

Born in Porto Potenza Picena, Italy, on September 1, 1933, Joseph is predeceased by his parents Annunziata and Graciano Tartabini, his brother Giuseppe, sister Silla, and step-mother Beatrice. He began his life’s mission in Cleveland, Ohio at the tender age of 4.

Joe was a smart and successful businessman and avid golfer with an infectious love of family, work and life. A generous and kind father always putting in the extra effort for all of his children. He was a true gentleman, his class and quick-wit endeared him to everyone who knew him. Just as he dealt with all of life’s experiences, he dealt with his sudden illness with grace and dignity. He will remain in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives and will be missed immensely. He was truly one of a kind and God is lucky to have him.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of more than 69 years, Juanita (Nita), his children Joe Jr. (Kathy), Danny, Ray (Julie), George, and Lorna (Greg); grandchildren Jena, Alicia (Rene), Joe (deceased)(Janette), Melissa (Justin), Anthony (aka TJ), Audriona, Michael (Nicole), Brianna; and great grandchildren Liliana, Astella, Mia, Vinny, Raelyn, Amelia, Giovanni, Ezio, and his brother Ray (Janet), all who are so very, very, proud of him and all that he accomplished during his lifetime. Dear uncle and good friend to many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 4, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Little Italy at 10:30 A.M. Interment following at Lakeview Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joseph at Ferfolia Funeral Home, 356 W. Aurora Road in Sagamore Hills, on Thursday, February 3rd from 4 – 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
