Obituary: JOSEPH P. SIRNA

JOSEPH P. SIRNA; 98, Happy to be reunited with his Beloved wife the late Christine (Nee Cassaro); Dearest father of Serena C. Wagner (Daniel), Thomas J. Sirna (Patty) and Vincent Sirna (Irene); Devoted grandfather of Heather Novak (Jeff), Daniel Wagner (Samuel Ocasio-Dominquez), Natalie Riggs (Bradley), Andrea Brunk (Jared), Anthony Sirna (Giovanna), Allie Worley (Justin), Nikolas Sirna (Kate), and Emery Sirna (Phil Barber); Cherished great-grandfather of Colin, Davis, Reid, Noah, Lincoln, Carson, Jaxson, Nixon, Antonella, Cooper, Veya, and Isabella; Dear brother of the late Constance Mercurio, late Frances Strazzanti, and the late Sam Sirna; Dear uncle of many; Joseph was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served in World War II, part of the Normandy Invasion. In 1939 he started in the grocery business in Chicago with his father and family. After moving to Cleveland, they continued the retail business and in 1988 began their food distribution division: Sirna & Sons Produce. Joseph was active in the business until the end. He was always very passionate about the company and all of his loyal, dedicated and hard-working employees. He was President of the Eagle Supermarket Group and received the Cleveland Food Dealers Award in 2018. Joseph enjoyed traveling, sports, and spending time with his friends. His family meant the world to him, and he loved spending time with them as often as possible. Family suggests memorial contributions in Joseph’s name to the Justin T.
