Obituary: Lynn Russell HORSFALL

HORSFALL, Lynn Russell, 76, of Lebanon and formerly of Northfield, OH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Optimized Senior Living in Lebanon, OH. Born December 10, 1946 in Bedford, OH to George and Bertha (nee: Vlasak) Horsfall, he was a 1964 graduate of Nordonia High School. Lynn was a proud veteran and served his country in the United States National Guard. He was a longtime leader of the CBMC Group. Lynn graduated in 1992 from the Baptist Bible Institution in Cleveland. Lynn retired in 1995 after 30 years with Ohio Bell. Following his retirement, Lynn worked for several real estate companies, specifically Keller Williams in Northfield Center, OH. He sold insurance for Perkins Insurance in North Royalton, OH. Lynn was a member of the Northfield Chamber of Commerce. He was actively involved in various activities through his church, including serving as a Deacon, leading men’s bible studies, teaching Sunday school, and serving on multiple mission trips including: Haiti, New Orleans, and during the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996. He enjoyed volunteering at A Child’s Hope International. Between studying his Bible and volunteering, Lynn could be found golfing, flying his kites, or spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sherron (nee: Lenz) Horsfall of Lebanon, his two daughters, Kimberly (Michael) Cope of Lebanon and Darlene (Don Basch) Sundheim of Delano, MN, son in law, Robert Sundheim, Jr, one sister, Joan Papciak of Northfield Center, OH, and his eight grandchildren, Zachary (Alicia) Cope, Ashley (William) Ewing, Austin (Ashley) Cope, Morgan Cope, Eva Sundheim, Bridget Sundheim, Michael Sundheim and Haakon Sundheim.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held in Lebanon at the Lebanon Christian Middle & High School, 15 E. Warren St., Lebanon, OH 45036 on July 8. Those attending may arrive at 10:00am to pay respects to the family. A service will follow at 11:00am. There will be a second celebration of Lynn’s life. The celebration will be held on August 5 at Northfield Baptist Church, 311 W Aurora Road, Northfield, OH 44067. Those attending may arrive at 10:am to pay respects to the family. A service will follow at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Queen City Hospice, 4605 Duke Drive, Suite 220, Mason, OH 45040.
