Mark Adler, 66, of Uniontown, died on February 19, 2023, after a brief illness. Mark was born in Cleveland and grew up in Walton Hills. Mark was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. Professionally, Mark established a dental practice in Northfield where he cared for his patients, many of whom became friends. In recent years, he was on the faculty of Lakeland Community College Dental Hygiene Department. Mark’s life was enriched by a bevy of friends, including some lifelong friends from Walton Hills, many from OSU, and others from different phases of his life. Mark loved nature, science, and astronomy. He was happiest when showing or teaching others about these topics. His best days included exploring tidal pools, vernal ponds, or the night sky. He was an intelligent, generous, and kind friend. Mark is remembered and missed for many things, including the colorful shirts he usually wore.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Adler, his sister, Erika Adler, as well as multiple beloved aunts and uncles.
Mark is survived by: his life partner, Betsi Orth; his sister, Gretchen (Bill) Brosky; brother, Drew (Lisa) Adler; his beloved nephews and nieces Nick (Jess) Brosky, Griff Brosky, Colby (Martin “Futon Daddy”) Ober, Hailey Adler, Shelby Adler, and Logan Adler; as well as his grandnephews, Brooks and Jaxon. Mark loved his nieces and nephews fiercely and was very proud to have helped raise them. He created adventures, experiences, and activities for them in pursuit of the “Fun Uncle” title.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 8, at Johnson Romito Funeral Home, 99 W. Aurora Rd (rt. 82 1 mile west of Rt .8) , Northfield, OH 44067. Please be sure to wear bright colorful fish, Hawaiian, or tie-dyed shirts in his honor.
