Obituary: MARY MANOCCHIO

MARY MANOCCHIO passed away October 15th, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Born June 4,1936 in Cleveland, OH to the late Antonio and Teresa (nee Tomaro) Manocchio of Baranello, Italy. She is predeceased by brother Joseph and leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Mario (also from Baranello); son Anthony (Karenina); daughters Nancy (Eric) and Norma (Kris); grandchildren Natalie, Gina, Gabriel, Isabella, Sophia, Britian, Alexia, Eric and Kristi. A devout Catholic and beloved wife, mother and friend, Mary loved others selflessly, volunteering in nursing homes and community organizations, and was member and officer for the Baranello Women’s Junior Auxiliary. Earning an associate’s degree in business administration & accounting, she worked as a bookkeeper and prepared taxes pro bono for those in need while still raising a family. She always encouraged education and hard work. Mary was a talented artist, cook, gardener, and was especially fond of animals and nature. In her late years she stayed active with church, Baranello Lodge, Garden Club, CUSA, MS society, and Senior Center where she loved to play Scrabble and Bingo. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AURORA RD. (OH RT 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION ON THURSDAY FROM 4-8 P.M. OUT OF RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER, MASKS WILL BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING OBSERVED.
