Merry Lee (Hobbs) Carr, 72, passed away on November 26, 2018. A Purdue University graduate and lifelong Boilermaker fan, Merry thoroughly enjoyed the last game she watched her team play, the 49-20 beatdown of Ohio State. It was a recurrent topic afterwards. More than watching football, however, she enjoyed reading, watching fireworks on Independence Day, and teaching art. Even in retirement from Nordonia School District, after 25 years of teaching, she continued to nurture children by developing artwork with and reading to her grandchildren, Kevin, Nathan, Callilah, Adrian, and Micah. She is survived by her grandchildren, and her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Julia Carr of Hudson. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that art supplies be given to families in need during the holiday season. The family will receive friends 4:00PM-6:00PM THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2018 at JOHNSON-ROMITO FUNERAL HOME, 19 E. Main Street, (On the Square), Hudson, OH (330-650-4181). A Memorial Service to celebrate Merry’s life will be held 10AM Friday, November 30, 2018 at the First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St., Hudson, OH. Private interment at Markillie Cemetery.
