Obituary: RICHARD “DICK” FISHER, SR.

RICHARD “DICK” FISHER, SR., passed into the arms of the Lord on June 28, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and friends.  Dick was born November 27, 1935 to George and Mary Fisher.  He was the owner of Fisher’s Cafe & Pub in Peninsula and enjoyed sharing his many stories with his customers. Dick served many years as the Mayor of Peninsula. Dick had many hobbies he loved. He was a licensed small plane pilot, jewelry maker, oil painter, trap shooter, wood craftsman, and traveler; the list is endless. Dick made many friends during his lifetime and will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his loving children, son Richard, Jr. and Julie Cole (Bill); grandchildren Ben (Serena), Kelsey Rye (Ricky), Sean (Katie), and Richard, III; great grandchildren Pepper, Grace, Aiden, Crosby, and Marlie; brothers Tom and George, Jr.; and dear friends Tom James and Rick Briggs, as well as so many others. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AURORA RD. (OH RT 82), FOR VISITATION ON WEDNESDAY FROM 12:30-3:30 AND 6-8 P.M. OUT OF RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER, MASKS WILL BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING OBSERVED. All are asked to gather at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 6034 S. Locust Street, Peninsula on Thursday at 11 a.m. for Dick’s Mass of Christian Burial. PLEASE WEAR MASKS AND OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery.
