Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Robert J. Toma, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on September 16, 1950, he was the kind of man who showed his love through action- by showing up, fixing what was broken, and always being there when someone needed him.
He was a devoted father to his sons, Robert (Kyle) and Michael (Michelle), and a proud grandfather to Elijah and David, who brought him endless joy. To us, he was steady, dependable, and always willing to help – no matter the hour or the problem.
Bob was a skilled tradesman and mechanic, and truly, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. That same determination carried into how he cared for people – quietly, patiently and without expecting anything in return.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zoltan and Irene Toma. He is survived by his siblings, Marianne, Irene Winslow, Len, Tim (Sara) and Jane and is also remembered by his former wife, Vicki and their extended family. He was a very special uncle and a loyal friend to many, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his time and talents.
We will remember him for his generous heart, his work-worn hands, his strength, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and love that will live on through all of us who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bob’s name to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Busch-Romito Funeral Home, 99 W. Aurora Rd., (Rt. 82, one mile west of Rt. 8) where funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2026. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield.
