Obituary: William “Bill” Joseph Fish

North Ridgeville – William “Bill” Joseph Fish passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Bill was known to family and friends by various nicknames including Red Dog, Crabby Billy, Little Lamb, and others. Although his trademark strawberry blond hair had greyed, his youthful mischievous nature, smiling face, and boisterous voice brought joy to many rooms and remained constant until the end. He often said “I could have been riding” his Harley, when he wasn’t making his famous Breakfast Cookies or helping to roll out pierogis. He loved apple pie, racing tractors while plowing fields or mowing the orchard at the family farm. Jet-skiing on rivers was a frequent pleasure. He surfed the web for farm equipment auctions and loved watching many genres of movies. He leaves a large hole in all our lives.

He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 31,1959 to Edward Everett Fish and Irene Dorothy Ozgowicz. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Joseph H. Fuchs, and stepsister, Marianne Kessler. Surviving are brothers Clyde Alfred Fish (Cheryl) and Edward Everett Fish Jr. (Brenda), sister Anastasia (Stacy) Katherine Fuchs (Mike), and stepbrothers Joseph Fuchs (Renee) and John Fuchs (Debbie). He was a loving uncle to nephews Jonathan and David Fish and niece Isabelle Otero, as well as many other family members. He graduated from Nordonia HS in 1977 and attended Tri-C, CSU, and KSU. Before he retired, he worked as a chemistry lab technician at Braden-Sutphin Ink, Flint Ink, and Lubrizol.
