Nordonia Track Regional Qualifiers

The Nordonia Knights track team competed in the district track meet last week. They had quite a few athletes who qualified for this week’s district meet. In order to qualify, you had to finish in the top 4 of the district. We will start with the field events. Jonathan DePiero got 2nd at districts, in the pole vault, with a height of 12 feet 8 inches. Dominic Dasher qualified for shot put and discus finishing 3rd and 2nd. Kynnidi Knight also made it regionals in the discus. Dominick Stockle qualified in the long jump. He jumped 23 feet 5 and a half inches. This distance would be a new school record. Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward held the previous record. Stockle also qualified in the 200 meter dash running 22.51 seconds. Lastly, in the high jump, Kayla Childs qualified with a jump of 5 feet 3 inches. Other qualifiers include Jon Banks in the 400 and Brenden Jackson in both hurdle races. Also, Mallory Tedor in the 2 mile race. The boys also qualified the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays. The Knights will run today (Wednesday the 22nd) and Friday the 24th.
