Police Blotter: Drug Charges, Fright On The Highway, Theft, Fruit Flies At House

Hit skip/possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia/failure to control
Bleeding driver charged after vehicle wrecks in Macedonia lands in Twinsburg:
A driver was charged with drug and traffic violations after police allege he left the scene of an accident that began in Macedonia and ended in Twinsburg. Police responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a pole on July 7 at 12:48 a.m. near Shepard Road and Laurel Drive, according to police. At the same time, Twinsburg Police were responding to an accident call at Shepard Road at Jennifer Lane. Twinsburg Police found the reported vehicle unoccupied with blood on the airbags and driver’s door. Police believed the vehicle left the roadway just south of 353 Shepard Road. The vehicle continued to drive into the woods. The vehicle then took out a mailbox and proceeded deeper into the woods, according to the report. The vehicle struck a tree and ricocheted across Shepard Road. The vehicle came to rest just north of Jennifer Lane. Police searched the scene and observed footprints in the grass which led away from the vehicle. Police also found a small plastic bag containing an orange pill, a container with marijuana shake and stems, a rolling tray, and small cigars within 15 feet of the scene. During the investigation police discovered the driver’s identity. The driver was charged with Stopping after an Accident, a first-degree misdemeanor; Marijuana Paraphernalia, a minor misdemeanor and Failure to Control, a minor misdemeanor. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

Suspicion
Suspicious vehicles frightened driver:
A woman told police she was sandwiched between two trucks on July 11, just before noon on Route 271 south from Oakwood to Macedonia. The woman told police she was followed by a 1950s-style Chevy truck as she left Oakwood. She also noticed a “lowrider truck” in front of her which kept slowing down. The drivers were men who appeared to be on their cell phones, according to the report. The drivers appeared to be trying to cover their mouths as they talked, according to the report. The woman bypassed the Route-82 exit she needed, hoping to lose the trucks. The woman turned onto Route-8. The trucks followed, according to police. The woman drove to a Macedonia Commons restaurant parking lot. The trucks pulled into a nearby parking lot, according to police. The woman told police the trucks parked next to each other for about 10 minutes. Police checked the Flock camera but the plates on each truck appeared to be covered and from out of state, according to the report. The woman believed the trucks may be tied to an earlier theft of her vehicle and identity.

Theft from vehicle
Computer taken from unlocked vehicle:
A man told police someone took a computer from his unlocked vehicle on June 13. The man told police he shopped at an East Aurora Road electronics store and “inadvertently left his vehicle unlocked and his back window down,” according to police. The man discovered the loss on June 14, when he could not find his computer bag. An unsuccessful attempt to log into the computer was made after the theft, according to police.

Property damage
Home and pool pelted with food:
A man reported on July 8 that someone had hit the side sliding door of his home with an orange. Upon inspection, the man also found several eggs at the bottom of his pool, according to the report. One of the eggs was smashed. The man also found an avocado at the bottom of the pool. A board placed around the side of a gate, which allowed his dog to play in the backyard had been dislodged and pulled away, according to the report. Motion lights on the barn had been tampered with, according to the report. Footage from surveillance cameras will be reviewed.
