Theft of Identity
What’s in her pocket?: A woman told police on September 25 that $800 had been fraudulently charged to her credit card. She told police she believed the issue had been resolved. However, she discovered a suspicious email dated June 30, 2031, according to police. The email stated that a Trojan horse virus had been placed on her computer and she was to send $400 to unlock her account. The woman did not respond and requested a police report for any further use.

Juvenile arrested after begging police to shoot him: Police responded to a fight on September 30, just before 8:30 p.m. at a Golden Link Drive restaurant. Upon arrival police discovered a male, later identified as a juvenile, aggressively walking through the parking lot. The male was very tense and yelling, according to police. The male “began yelling at me to run him over,” according to the police report. “He then lowered his arms, made fists with his hand, and started veiling at me to shoot him. I drew my taser and pointed it at him while giving him commands to get on the ground,” police said. The male refused police commands and was wrestled to the ground and placed in custody. Police found the second suspect, also identified as a juvenile. Police reviewed the surveillance video. The two had physically fought in the restaurant. The fight, which spilled into the parking lot, was over alleged stolen “chips.” One of the juveniles was taken to the hospital for evaluation after he allegedly punched a wall and banged his head on the hood of a cruiser, according to police. No charges were filed, according to police.

Abandoned bicycle found near Indian Creek: A North Bedford Road resident found an abandoned Schwinn Crosscut Mountain bike on October 3, near Indian Creek. The red bicycle had a red seat cover. The bicycle has not been claimed, according to the police.
Forgery
Man arrested in process of alleged theft: An employee of an East Aurora Road bank called police on October 3 at 1:49 p.m. to report a suspicious man who allegedly attempted to use a false identity to open checking accounts. The bank had earlier received a company notice which alerted employees to forgery attempts, according to police.
The suspect was in the bank manager’s office attempting to open an account using a Tennessee driver’s license. However, when questioned he produced a Michigan license, according to police. The man was placed into custody. After a search warrant was obtained police found three bank folders with accounts opened in three different names. The bank branches were in Strongsville, Brecksville, and Middleburg Heights, according to police. Police also found a Louis Vuitton wallet containing three Illinois driver’s licenses with different names and information, but the man’s photo, according to police. Police also found an additional Tennessee driver’s license and two debit cards with different names, according to police. Additional bank folders were found from accounts opened in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, according to police. The man was charged with Forgery-Uttering, a fifth-degree felony. The charges were forwarded to Stow Municipal Court.
