Escape
Stones help man’s rolling escape from jail: A man failed to return from an Aug. 23 medical furlough from the Macedonia City Jail, according to police.
The man was given about a five hour head start complaining of stomach pain and possible kidney stones, while in jail, after an arrest.
The man had been arrested for several warrants, including a failure to appear in mayor’s court.
According to police he was allegedly told to return to the jail after treatment.
However when police called the center, to check on the whereabouts of the man, they were told he had been discharged around 4:50 a.m. The man is still on the run. It was not known if he was diagnosed with kidney stones.

Windows smashed at gym: A woman called police to an Aurora Street fitness center to report the front window of her car had been smashed in by an unknown person or persons, taking several items.
The alleged theft took place sometime around 5 p.m. The woman reported that her front passenger window had been smashed open and her car had been rummaged through. The woman told police a Luis Vuitton handbag that contained her wallet, credit cards, bank cards, a smart phone had been taken.
The woman attempted to track the phone but the location services were turned off. A total loss was not listed.
While the officer was one scene, a second reported to have been taken.
While on scene a second victim approached the officer and reported his car was broken into.
The caller told police his car was allegedly broken into while he was working out at the same center.
The man told police he returned from working out to find his front passenger window smashed.
The man told police his wallet containing several credit cards, $5 cash, and a vehicle dash cam were stolen from his vehicle.
Police spoke with an employee reference the incident. The employee was able to pull up video footage which shows somebody break into one of the cars, but it is low quality and in the top left corner of the frame and are unable to see the other car.
The employee was unsure how to download the video.
The woman’s credit card was later used at a Twinsburg gas station for $91.
Police were able to get a good description and are investigating.
