Police are looking for three men who teamed up to steal several credit cards, a cell phone, a cell phone wallet, cash, and other items on May 8 from at least two elderly shoppers at an East Aurora Road grocery store around noon.

One of the men allegedly used a stolen credit card to purchase a computer tablet, according to police.

One of the women contacted Macedonia Police shortly before 1 p.m. after she could not find her cell phone or attached cell phone wallet while checking out at the East Aurora Road grocery store.

Police viewed store surveillance footage and observed two of the men in the grocery store near the shopper.

As the woman reached for an item, one of the men approached her and allegedly took her phone and phone wallet from the purse. Police described the man as white with a dark complexion. He was wearing a blue-and-red-checked shirt, blue jeans, brown boots, a white face mask, and a blue hat with a white front.

The second man was also described as white with a dark complexion, according to the report. He was wearing a blue-checkered shirt, blue jeans, light-green tennis shoes, and a tan hat with black brim. The man also carried a black satchel and was carrying a dark blue sports jacket.

Surveillance footage also showed the men approach another elderly female shopper, according to police.

The man with the brown boots pretended to ask the shopper a question. While she was distracted, the man with the green tennis shoes allegedly reached into her purse and removed an item,
according to the report. The men left the store.

Outside surveillance footage did not show the direction of the men after exiting the store.

A bank called one of the women less than an hour later, about a $1,173 computer tablet purchase from a nearby electronic/appliance store.

Police viewed security footage from the nearby electronic/appliance store and observed the same two men, who had switched some clothing items and shoes.

A third man entered the store and used the allegedly stolen credit card to purchase the computer tablet.

Two of the men drove away in a black Chevy Trax which had been parked behind a nearby car dealership. The vehicle was found using the flock camera which determined the license plate was stolen earlier that morning from Pennsylvania, according to police.

Items taken included credit cards, store cards, a cell phone, and just over $300 in cash. Police are investigating and will file charges, according to the report.
