On July 4, 2018, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office was contacted in regards to a rape that allegedly occurred in Coventry Township. It was reported that a 30 year old female met a man named Matthew Fountaine on a dating website called “Plenty O’ Fish.” The two arranged to meet at the female’s Coventry Township residence on July 3rd. The female reported that she consumed a bottle of water, lost consciousness, and woke up naked at an unknown location on the morning of July 4th. The alleged victim was treated and released from Akron General Hospital. A sexual assault kit was completed by the medical staff.
On August 27, 2018, Matthew T. Fountaine, age 41 of Kent was arrested for Rape (F-1). He was transported to the Summit County Jail.
