Annual tradition returns with shoebox-sized presents for children
The Northfield Fire Department will bring Santa Claus through the village on Sunday, December 14, starting at 10 a.m. for its annual fire truck gift delivery event.
The program allows Northfield Village residents to pre-register gifts for children 17 and younger. Parents must drop off wrapped presents no larger than shoebox size at the fire station by Thursday, December 11, at 8 p.m.
Gift delivery forms are available at the fire station, Ledge Road Service Department and the village website. Each form must include the child’s name, age, gender, address and parent or guardian phone number attached to the wrapped gift.
The fire department will post the delivery route, locations and times closer to the event. Officials encourage families and friends living in the same neighborhood to gather at a single stop to help Santa make all scheduled deliveries.
Lieutenant Bob Davet can answer questions at rdavet@northfieldvillage-oh.gov.
The fire truck will carry small treats for children whose parents don’t participate in the gift program, but the department will only travel streets with scheduled stops.
The event is open to all Northfield Village residents.
