Aurora scored nine runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights 16-0 on Tuesday.
A single by #2 put Aurora on the board in the top of the first.
Aurora scored nine runs on nine hits in the top of the second inning. #5 doubled, scoring one run, #32 singled, scoring one run, #25 doubled, scoring one run, #12 singled, scoring one run, #4 singled, scoring one run, #11 singled, scoring one run, and #28 homered to center field, scoring three runs.
Aurora scored six runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Kirra Smeal induced #11 to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, #28 singled, scoring two runs, #5 grounded out, scoring one run, and #12 singled, scoring two runs.
#2 earned the win for Aurora. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking three. Haylie Lambes took the loss for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. The starter went three innings, surrendering 13 runs on 13 hits, striking out none and walking three.
Smeal and Laura Garey each collected one hit for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights turned one double play in the game. Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Maddie Nyce made the most plays with six.
Aurora piled up 17 hits in the game. #28 led Aurora with five runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 3-for-3 on the day. #12, #2, and #28 each collected three hits for Aurora. #25 and #4 each collected multiple hits for Aurora. Aurora had a strong eye at the plate, amassing five walks for the game. Aurora didn’t commit a single error in the field. #4 had the most chances in the field with four.
